It was a privilege to curate nearly 150 artists in 2019, combining to create a fabulous playlist (available in Google Drive). Musicoin has many great artists in a wide variety of genres. So it’s nice to crown one of them MUSICOIN ARTIST OF THE YEAR.

Out of nearly 50 independent artists (all winners of Musicoin Artist of the Week during 2019), a shortlist of 16 was made. After voting by the Musicoin community, eight artists proceeded to the semifinals, and from there four fought it out in the final (polls for semis & final on Twitter).

Final marred by gaming!
Unfortunately, the poll to decide the final of MUSICOIN ARTIST OF THE YEAR 2019 was marred by gaming. A misguided person bought a bunch of votes (some 600!) for his favoured artist! We froze the poll at the point before this activity took place, invoking the one voice one vote principle. So we have joint winners (Bonnie Legion and Trenton Lundy), and joint second place (Luna Rae and Jibba the Gent). Not entirely satisfactory, but the fairest thing we can do for the contestants in the circumstances. And they agree with the decision.
