The moment I noticed Musicoin in December 2017, I was intrigued and then swiftly hooked. This was something I had been dreaming of – a utopian world where fans can listen free and musicians get paid the most competitive rate in the streaming industry.

So I joined more or less instantly, got verified and uploaded my first song there – Little Bird, which had done okay on Soundcloud.

You can listen to Little Bird free here. Each play I get earns me MUSIC, the crypto currency that Musicoin pays its musicians with. There are some 5,000 independent musicians on the platform, and you can play them all completely free and support them at the same time.

It sounds like a square deal to me. After all, a music industry that only pays 12% of annual revenue (2017) to musicians and songwriters doesn’t seem very fair to me.
